An Eagle Mountain Family shared their experience following the loss of their daughter as a result of a DUI crash on July 24.

Alcohol impaired drivers have an impact on all of us. This YouTube video shows the emotion of parents whose life was changed forever on July 24, 2014, Pioneer Day, when their daughter, Katie Hancock, was killed in a crash in Eagle Mountain. The crash was caused by a driver whose blood alcohol level was .15, nearly twice the legal limit for driving. What compounds this tragedy is that drunk driving crashes are completely, 100% preventable with a simple choice. The goodness of Katie Hancock's life is beautifully apparent in her parent's tearful tribute. And so you know, the young people behind David and Libby Hancock did not know them before this day (12/16/14). They are members of the Woods Cross High School Madrigals. That is the kind of impact DUI driving can have on everyone. You didn't have to know Katie Hancock before now to feel the emotion! It is clear they feel the emotion of this senseless loss. Please be careful. If you see someone driving whom you suspect is impaired, call 911. Yes, it really is that big of an emergency! Your action might save a life!
