A 14 year old Spingville Boy Scout has collected over 500 stuffed animals and blankets to be given to young children in crisis situations.

*** PRESS CONFERENCE ***

Sheriff Jim Tracy and the Utah County Sheriff's Office will hold a press briefing at 4:00 P.M. on May 13, 2013 in the atrium at the Sheriff's Office building in Spanish Fork. The briefing will be in support of an Eagle Scout project completed by 14 year old Colton Tuttle, of Springville. Colton began his project in December 2012 to collect stuffed animals and blankets for deputies at the Sheriff's Office to give to children in crisis situations. Whether it is a child whose parents are injured in an accident, whose home may be flooded or burned, or whose parents may have been involved in domestic violence, these items have shown to bring great comfort to young children who are suffering.

In his project, which Colton recently completed, he collected 535 stuffed animals and blankets. Deputies with the Sheriff's Office will carry several of these items in their patrol cars to be used when they interact with young children in crisis.
