Mission Statement

The Division of Substance Abuse is the Local Substance Abuse Authority for Utah County. The division is responsible for prevention, treatment, and early intervention programs for both youth and adult citizens of Utah County.

A variety of treatment programs and services are offered directly by the Division and through substance abuse agencies in the community, including Drug Court programs.

Prevention Services for youth are provided through contracts with Alpine, Provo, and Nebo school districts, and prevention services for young adults are provided at Utah Valley University. The division maintains a community resource library complete with pamphlets and other resource materials. Pamphlets, informative brochures and other resource materials are available to the public at no cost. The Prevention program also has speakers available to talk to community groups on a variety of substance abuse related topics.

Patterns of substance abuse constantly change. Recent trends in substance abuse patterns in Utah County as well as in the State of Utah and nationally provide a point of comparison for individuals or groups considering the severity and nature of the substance abuse problem in Utah County.
